Special Education Coordinator / Director

We are a tuition-free public charter school serving K-8 students in the Haughville neighborhood of Indianapolis, and we're looking for a Special Education Coordinator/Director to lead our Special Education team. The role is a 12-month position with a salary commensurate with experience, and the team is looking for someone with a problem-solving mindset, real-time coaching, emotional intelligence, advocacy, approachability, humility, fairness, and consistency.

Requirements

• Valid Indiana Special Education teaching license
• Strong working knowledge of IDEA, Indiana Article 7, IIEP/Indiana IEP systems, manifestation determinations, evaluations, and compliance requirements
• Experience supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, functional, and communication needs, including students with autism
• Demonstrated organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build positive relationships and maintain professionalism in high-stakes and high-stress situations
