Terminal Operations Superintendent

This Terminal Operations Superintendent oversees all CVS and Terminal Operations to ensure cargo is moved safely and efficiently in a manner that meets productivity, cost, and schedule objectives. The role involves managing and directing terminal activities, communicating with other departments, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proficiency with personal computers including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn Matson’s internal software programs (TOS/N4, SPARCS, Vinsight, GEMS, and others as appropriate)
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to learn/understand/apply bargaining unit contracts, and supervise, train, and motivate within the unit’s workforce
• Ability to think ahead and plan
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level
• Basic knowledge of applicable safety rules, and familiarity with safe workforce practices
• Demonstrated ability to follow established work processes and work independently
• Proven ability to prioritize work responsibilities in a fast-paced environment and redirect priorities with attention to details and deadlines
