Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiothoracic Surgery

The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide healthcare across the continuum of care for assigned patients. The individual will provide primary healthcare and/or specialty-specific care to individuals and families, and will have responsibilities in OR first assisting in Cardiac surgery and other tasks.

Requirements

• Advanced health assessment and decision-making skills
• Certification by examination of an approved certifying body
• Collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Provision of primary healthcare and/or specialty-specific care
• Comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests
• Prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments
• Leadership through involvement on committees and team projects, education, and research
