Farmers Market Promotion Program Contractor

Healthy Lincoln County is recruiting a part-time seasonal contractor to support its food systems work during the busy summer months. This position will help staff HLC’s booths at the Boothbay and Damariscotta Farmers Markets, assist customers using SNAP, WIC, Maine Senior FarmShare, and Maine Harvest Bucks, and support basic operations at our local Food Hub.

Requirements

• Experience in customer service, community outreach, agriculture, food systems, or related fields—including lived experience.
• Ability to work independently in busy market environments and collaboratively with HLC staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging with farmers, vendors, and shoppers.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to lift 30-40 lbs.
• All HLC contractors require a background check.
• Experience working with USDA nutrition incentive programs is highly desirable.
