McKim & Creed is seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to join our Water Business Unit in North Carolina. The successful candidate will work on engineering projects focused on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, including water treatment plants, wastewater pump stations, and booster pump stations. The role involves coordinating with project managers, completing tasks within budget and schedule, and interacting with clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer registration or the ability to acquire registration
- 6-10 years' professional experience required
- Proven experience with design of medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems
- Experience with Electrical Area classification plan development and ability to specify electrical equipment in classified areas
- Experience with Generator sizing Tools such Caterpillar SpecSizer or Cummins Powersuite and the ability to design full emergency backup systems
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
- Design and plan production experience utilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and/or Revit is required
- Experience with Arc Flash software such as eTap or SKM is required
- Extensive knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 780
- Field investigative and start-up experience
- The ability to balance multiple work assignments on multiple projects at the same time is required
- The ability to work alone but also effectively as part of a team is required
- Requires process-oriented thinking with strong organizational and technical skills
- Requires excellent communication, and the ability to take and understand directives from Project Engineers and Project Managers
- The ability to complete work consistently, with moderate flexibility to accommodate varying demands from Project Managers is required
