Reel Tender

Join Journal Register Offset as a Reel Tender on our production team! Reel Tenders focus on loading large paper rolls into newspaper printing presses and discarding spent rolls. No prior work experience is required, we will train you.

Requirements

• Review all layouts for shift productions to ensure knowledge of product name, printing order, and circulation order
• Check each layout for sizes and weights of paper needed
• Keep reel room neat and empty trash every shift
• Cut down all spent cores before the end of each shift
• Inform lead person of any defective rolls
• Ensure that reel reports are filled out correctly and completely for each product
• Keep roll lay-down pad full and make sure paper is removed from warehouse in proper order, oldest to newest
• Help on press as needed and assigned by lead person
• Check product folios at roll-up
