Community Service Officer

Community service officers (CSOs) on college campuses patrol to maintain safety, assist during emergencies, control access to buildings, manage crowds, and provide escort services.

Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of safety procedures, emergency response protocols, and relevant laws
• Understanding of diversity awareness and cultural sensitivity
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation abilities
• Sharp observation skills to identify security threats and safety hazards
• Ability to make quick and effective decisions while maintaining composure under pressure
• Physical fitness and stamina for patrolling duties
• Basic computer skills for report writing and record-keeping
