Job Description
The Senior Contracts Engineer will provide expertise and practical assistance to all assigned departments in all tendering and contractual matters from inception of project till close-out of contracts. The role will involve review and advice on tendering and contracting strategy, preparation of pre-qualification documents, invitations, and evaluation criteria, and provision of expert advice in short listing potential bidders and suggesting the most appropriate tendering process.
Requirements
- BSc in Quantity Surveying/Engineering Discipline or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years' experience in pre and post contract administration
- At least 5 years' experience in the oil and gas industry
- Proficient in commercial and contractual aspects of contract administration
- Possession of sound knowledge of Contracts Law
- Proficient in contractual correspondence, contract verbatim, report writing
- Thorough understanding of engineering, procurement, construction techniques
- Knowledge of incoterms and commercial implications
- Computer literate and able to use knowledge for contract analysis
- Knowledge of SAP (preferred)
- Critical evaluation and challenge of Contractors claims from contractual and commercial perspectives
