The Privacy Specialist assists Privacy Director in managing, monitoring, investigating, and educating Memorial Healthcare System (MHS) and to ensure compliance with HIPAA Privacy Rule.
Requirements
- Ensure that all Request for Amendments, Privacy Incidents investigations, Records Restrictions and Accounting for Disclosures are processed within the time required by Federal and State laws.
- Assist Privacy Director in activities to foster privacy awareness within the organization and related entities.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards and monitor advancements in information privacy technologies to ensure organizational adaptation and compliance.
- Respond to complaints and grievances related to Privacy issues.
- Assist with running electronic audits and any ongoing department projects.
- Compile, prepare, review and submit reports of privacy trends.
- Administer current process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating and taking action on all complaints concerning the organizations privacy policies and procedures in coordination with the Privacy Director.
