Provides direct patient care on assigned units in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Requirements

• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care
• Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel
• May precept student nurses and new hires
• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate
• Evaluates learning needs of the patient and/or family; provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
