Sterile Process Technician III

Job Summary: Provide sterilized surgical instruments, supplies and equipment to the operating room and other areas of the hospital. May function as lead/charge person for the shift, as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certification by Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) required
• Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) or Surgical Instrument Specialist Certification (CSIS) preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience involving sterilization of instruments, equipment and supplies
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English language
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to lift and/or maneuver supplies and equipment in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions
• Demonstrated ability to perform basic computer skills
• Demonstrated ability to think critically and apply problem-solving skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to maintain composure and professional demeanor during tense or stressful situations
