ESL Summer Bilingual Cultural Mentor

ESL Summer Bilingual Cultural Mentor position at Grahamwood Elementary School in Memphis, TN, provides academic assistance to students in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program, interprets for students, parents, and teachers, and serves as liaison between District staff and students/parents.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours) or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or directly relevant experience
• One (1) year or more of experience in translating and/or mentoring
• Experience and training in working with students in an instructional environment, preferably within a bilingual setting
• Commitment for the entire period of Summer School
• Attendance at ALL periodic administrative meetings
• Availability prior to the end of the regular school assignment to participate in Summer School setup and preparation
• Availability for Summer School closeout operations

Benefits
