Software Engineer, Backend - Merpay

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer, Backend to join our team at Merpay. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for developing microservices using Go, designing APIs, and measuring the effectiveness of policies based on user behavior logs. You will also have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from developing and operating large-scale traffic systems to leading developers and managing processes.

Requirements

• Understand Mercari Group's mission and values and share them
• Have experience developing web applications
• Have experience designing and operating databases (RDB, NoSQL, etc.)
• Have experience operating and tuning web applications and have knowledge of security
• Have experience designing software architectures and selecting middleware
• Have the ability to take ownership and lead the development of software
• Have the ability to use generated AI to improve development workflows and contribute to team productivity
• Have Japanese language proficiency (CEFR B2 or higher)
• Have English language proficiency (experience using English in work is welcome)
