Agriculture Officer

The Agriculture Officer will support in managing and implementing agriculture-related interventions in Helmand, assist in developing and delivering training programs, conduct workshops, and monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.

Requirements

• Support in Managing and implementing agriculture-related interventions in Helmand
• Assist the Agriculture Coordinator to develop and deliver training programs on climate-resilient agricultural practices.
• Conduct workshops and field demonstrations to educate farmers on sustainable farming techniques.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
• Identify and assess the needs of vulnerable farming households.
• Coordinate the distribution of agricultural inputs such as seeds, tools, and fertilizers.
• Ensure timely and equitable distribution of resources to the targeted beneficiaries.
• Maintain accurate records of input distribution and monitor the usage and impact on farming activities.
• Provide ongoing support and technical assistance to farmers to enhance their agricultural practices.
• Facilitate the formation of farmer groups and cooperatives to promote collective action and resource sharing.
• Assist in the development of market linkages to help farmers sell their productions at fair prices.
• Regularly monitor the progress of activities and document outcomes.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on the implementation of activities and their impact on farming households.
• Maintain and coordinate reporting and documentation with the agriculture coordinator and other team members.
• Timely preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and interim reports on Agriculture related activities and share with the agriculture coordinator on the progress of the activities being implemented.
• Develop the capacity of the team, deepen understanding of their roles and assist with career development.
• Assist team members with information, tools and resources to improve performance & reach objectives.
• Promote accountability, communicate expectations, and provide constructive feedback informally and formally via regular one on ones and performance reviews.
