Mercy Corps is seeking a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Officer to support their program in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will work to promote gender equality and social inclusion in the Somali region, with a focus on pastoralist communities. The officer will be responsible for implementing and coordinating field-level activities to ensure the quality and timely delivery of planned activities.
Requirements
- BA in sociology, Gender Study, Development studies and Social Science
- Three Years work experience in Gender experience, worked in Protection and GBV similar organizations
- Prior experience working with pastoralist communities, in Ethiopia especially in the Somali region
- Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization skills
- Ability to work comfortably, effectively and creatively in areas of variable security
- Multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skill
- Fluent in English and Somali languages (capable in all require basic skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing)
- Computer literate especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
