The PLC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of programmable logic controller (PLC) and Siemens Simatic S7 systems and related electrical equipment in both above-ground and underground environments.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in an Electrical Trades Program
- Bachelor's Degree in a Construction Management program or relevant field is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a PLC Electrician, preferably with experience in underground construction projects
- Experience and knowledge of Canadian electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards for tunnel construction equipment
- In-depth understanding of Canadian electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards for tunnel construction equipment
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective maintenance programs for complex electrical systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and management
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and complete electrical documentation
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) principles, actively promoting a safe work culture
