Job Description
We are seeking a Sr. Database Engineer I (Natural/Adabas) to administer Software AG Adabas and Natural databases, maintain security and access controls, enable analytics, troubleshoot and resolve bugs, and guide environment refreshes and upgrades.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Natural and ADABAS in enterprise environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT discipline or equivalent professional experience
- Proven experience developing and supporting Natural applications (online and batch)
- Extensive experience performing complex debugging and root-cause analysis, production issue resolution and performance tuning, ad-hoc data analysis and reconciliation
- Demonstrated ability to write and maintain clear technical documentation, including program specifications and operational runbooks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
- Strong working knowledge of ADABAS database structures, files, and access paths, Natural subprograms, maps, and batch processing, job scheduling and execution via JCL and/or SCL
