Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Design)

Michael Baker International is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the planning, design, and construction support for a diverse portfolio of healthcare, mission critical, higher education, and complex commercial projects. The role requires a seasoned engineer with a passion for high-performance building design and a track record of delivering results.

Requirements

• Lead the design and development of electrical construction documents
• Engineer complete building systems across a variety of project types
• Collaborate with architects, interior designers, civil engineers, and other disciplines
• Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
• Engage with clients in business development activities
• Perform advanced analysis, calculations, and design evaluations
• Use Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to produce construction drawings and design electrical systems
• Review project requirements and coordinate with other disciplines
• Develop scope of work, develop pricing and technical documentation, and create fee estimates for proposals
• Communicate technical and program information clearly to team members, management, and clients
• Coordinate or perform field work to gather data and verify existing conditions
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards
• Conduct internal technical reviews and quality control checks on project deliverables
• Maintain strong communication with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Edit and review technical specifications and contribute written narratives for project documentation
• Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and perform site visits during construction
• Support additional tasks, assigned by management
