Traction Power Engineer

Michael Baker International is seeking a Traction Power Engineer to join its Rail and Transit Practice. The ideal candidate will have experience in design projects for Class I railroads and/or rail transit agencies and be able to support projects and offices across the country. The role will involve executing technical work, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to the growth of the Rail Transit Department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or applicable degree
• PE License
• 5 years minimum of engineering experience; transit experience preferred
• Proficiency with CAD (MicroStation & AutoCAD), Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical skills
• Proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation
• Availability to occasionally travel to other local offices and job site locations
• Possess excellent client management skills and ability to enhance and develop solid client relationships
• Proven experience in working on multiple projects concurrently, managing project deadlines and on-time submittals
• Strong work ethic, integrity
• Ability to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal skills, communication skills and problem-solving ability
• Ability to assist in developing strategic approaches and concepts
• Experience reviewing construction plans and specifications
