Cardiac Stress Nurse

Performs and monitors non-pharmacologic, pharmacologic, and PET stress tests in collaboration with the Nuclear Technologist, and provides direct patient care.

Requirements

• IV management (site selection, insertion, removal)
• Recognition of EKG and rhythm abnormalities
• EKG prep, recording, and preliminary interpretation
• Monitor/document vital signs
• Identify and respond to adverse reactions under provider guidance
• Provide patient instructions on prep, diet, and medication holds
• Maintain current CPR/BLS/ACLS certifications
• Participate in continuing education and maintain competency
• Attend team meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Provide orientation, mentorship, and preceptorship to new team members
• Participate in community education or prevention programs as needed
• Deliver care consistent with current standards, protocols, and ethical guidelines
• Support the CT service line when needed and assist with staff training and education
