The Crime Scene Specialist collects and processes evidentiary items, performs crime scene duties, and assists in criminal investigations. They must have advanced knowledge of latent print techniques, chemical processing, and photography. The Specialist must also be able to testify in court and provide training to less experienced staff.

- Principles and practices of technical crime scene processing and crime scene reconstruction
- Report writing
- Rules of evidence of the methods and procedures of physical evidence collection, processing and preservation
