Job Description
The Sheetfed Press Assistant will assist with the set up and operation of a printing press, ensuring quality control, customer satisfaction, and adherence to internal/external deadlines. This role involves washing up, cleaning, inspecting jobs, maintaining press equipment, and following procedures. They will support the operations of the press and other equipment, including adding ink, maintaining pH levels, and assisting with plating and finishing.
Requirements
- Keeps feeder loaded with sheets of paper.
- Reads and understands job tickets, layouts, and specifications.
- Assists Lead Press Operator with manual/machine tasks.
- Performs wash-up, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Records ink usage and checks plates for defects.
- Follows safety and OSHA/EPA regulations.
