Software Engineer -Backend

Modulr is seeking a Software Engineer - Backend to design, build, and evolve the next generation of its event-driven payments platform. The successful candidate will work in a cross-functional team, responsible for shaping technical approaches, delivering production-grade software, and driving innovation in a rapidly growing Fintech business.

Requirements

• Expertise in Java or another OO language with willingness to work in Java.
• Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, and distributed systems fundamentals.
• Experience building and operating microservices in production.
• Ability to reason about concurrency, performance, and system behaviour under load.
• Clear, proactive communication and a collaborative, team-first mindset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills supported by sound engineering judgement.
