Construction Environmental Specialist - Solar

Mortenson is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support environmental management efforts for Civil, Solar, Wind and High Voltage Transmission Groups’ projects throughout North America. The role involves reviewing environmental documentation, advising on environmental matters, and developing and implementing environmental programs at solar project worksites.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
• Minimum of four years related experience
• Significant experience with two or more of the following areas: erosion prevention and sediment control, storm water pollution prevention plans, spill prevention controls and countermeasures, wetlands, endangered species
• Experience managing hazardous waste and contamination compliance
• Experience with natural gas or oil is preferred
• Strong understanding of Federal, State, Provincial and local laws, policies and procedures
• A well-organized and self-directed individual who is collaborative and a team player
• Ability to interact with consultants and governmental agencies
• Ability to use PC, tablets and widely used software packages, e.g., spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (MS Word)
• Current driver’s license
• Able to travel up to 100%
