The Paramedic provides advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergent patients. They must possess complex knowledge and skills to assess the scene, accurately interrogate and assess the patient, and provide the demanded standard of professional care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or greater collegiate education preferred
- Current Certification as a Pennsylvania State- Paramedic with Medical Command eligibility
- Current and valid American Heart Association β BLS for Healthcare Providers credentialing
- Current and valid American Heart Association β Advanced Cardiac Life Support credentialing
- Current and valid American Heart Association β Pediatric Advanced Life Support credentialing
- Current and valid NAEMT Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support credentialing
- Current (within 30 days of hire) Pennsylvania Act 31 β Mandatory Reporter Training
- National Incident Management System IS 700: Introduction to the National Incident Management System
- National Incident Management System IS 100: Introduction to the ICS System
- Hazardous Materials Course- Recognizing & Identifying Hazardous Materials (RIHM)
- National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians- Paramedic preferred
- NAEMT- Advanced Medical Life Support preferred
- Valid PA Driver License (minimum class C)
- Must be at least 18 years of age as mandated by State Vehicle codes
- Current and with eligibility for renewal the following clearances:
- Pennsylvania Act 33 β PA Child Abuse Clearance
- Pennsylvania Act 34 β PA State Police Criminal History (PATCH)
- Pennsylvania Act 73 β Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a field EMS provider preferred
