Job Description
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget is seeking a team-oriented Database Administrator to support the Michigan Department of Corrections. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of database administration (SQL Server and Sybase) and is passionate about public service, building positive team culture, and adhering to industry best practices.
Requirements
- Assist in data architecture and database design
- Provide Sybase database support
- Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft SQL software
- Database Security & Integrity
- Database backups and restores
- Database performance optimization/tuning
- Application/solution incident response SME
- Provide audit responses
- Drive efforts to develop team processes/procedures
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior database administrators
- Participate in on-call rotation
