Applied AI Engineer

Role Overview

Narmi is hiring an Applied AI Engineer to own end-to-end delivery of AI-powered features into production across dozens of customers' environments. The role involves building features, reliability infrastructure, and establishing standards for faster delivery. This is a horizontal, Senior/Staff-level role that influences how AI is built across the company.

What You Will Do

Own AI features from ideation to production release, embed with customer teams, codify working patterns, build evaluation and regression systems, and design monitoring to detect output degradation.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software engineering experience, direct experience shipping GenAI or agentic systems, and strong backend engineering skills. They should be able to operate across engineering, product, and compliance, and have a deep understanding of non-deterministic system behavior and failure modes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Direct experience shipping GenAI or agentic systems into production
• Write and review production-grade code across frontend and backend using Python, JavaScript, or comparable stacks
• Experience building evaluation, monitoring, or ML infrastructure
• Deep understanding of non-deterministic system behavior and failure modes
• Strong backend engineering skills
• Ability to operate across engineering, product, and compliance
