Senior Data Platform Engineer

Role Overview

We're seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join our Data Platforms team and focus on the hands-on implementation and maintenance of our data platform infrastructure. You'll work directly under our Principal Data Platform Engineer to implement platform improvements, maintain critical infrastructure, and guide teams on best practices for working within our data ecosystem.

What You Will Do

Implement and maintain data platform infrastructure using Terraform, Azure services, and our broader technology stack. Work directly with the Principal Data Platform Engineer to execute strategic platform improvements and architectural initiatives.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of data platform or infrastructure engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Azure services (Databricks, SQL Server, EventHub, Storage, etc.) and cloud infrastructure management
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and version control (Git) for platform management
• Hands-on experience with Databricks administration, including cluster management, job optimization, and Unity Catalog
• Knowledge of data platform architectures and experience maintaining large-scale data infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Python and SQL for platform automation and troubleshooting
• Experience with monitoring and alerting systems for data platform reliability
• Familiarity with compliance requirements and security best practices in cloud environments
• Excellent communication skills and ability to guide teams on technical best practices
