We are seeking a Founding 8th Grade History Teacher to join our team at Neighborhood Charter Schools. The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching Middle School students and have expertise in History. The teacher will be responsible for developing rigorous instruction and delivering it effectively to large and small groups of students.

- Communicate and reinforce high expectations and standards for behavior and academic performance
- Cultivate a strong classroom community with students and families
- Plan for and develop rigorous instruction and deliver it effectively
- Solicit, welcome, and incorporate feedback to improve instructional practice
- Maintain a secure and effective learning environment
- Provide students with meaningful feedback and give them multiple attempts to show their learning
- Measure student achievement of, and progress toward, all learning objectives
- Drive academic outcomes by analyzing data and implementing high leverage instructional moves
- Participate in state-wide testing and provide testing accommodations
- Use data to reflect on effectiveness of lessons and student achievement progress
- Differentiate for individual students based on their unique learning needs
- Employ various teaching techniques and methods to enable students to progress at accelerated rates
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) and behavior plans
- Develop strong relationships with families through frequent communication
- Communicate respectfully and thoughtfully with parents/guardians
- Be a reliable and consistently on-time staff member
- Demonstrate a commitment to the NCS operating values
- Reflect on progress as an educator and seek out professional resources to continuously improve one’s practice
