Job Description
The Medical Records Clerk performs clerical and administrative functions to assist and support providers, medical staff and medical support staff in the provision of medical care. Assists the Medical Records Manager in maintaining and securing patient records, and assists with data collection and report generation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Medical records technician certification, and/or current certified and/or registered medical assistant
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical records practices, HIPPA and utilization management
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Personal maturity and emotional intelligence
- Sensitive to cultural, religious, and ethnic diversity
