Grade 5 Lead Teacher

New Canaan Country School is seeking a Grade 5 Lead Teacher to serve as a member of our Middle School faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for cultivating a joyful and kind classroom community, delivering instruction of the highest caliber, and mentoring an Apprentice Teacher.

Requirements

• Teach language arts, math, and social studies
• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate program
• Serve as a homeroom advisor and differentiate instruction
• Evaluate student growth and maintain relationships with parents/guardians
• Participate in grade-level, department, and employee meetings
• Coach and/or lead extracurricular activities
• Mentor an Apprentice Teacher and share teaching responsibilities
• Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities
