Job Description
The Assistant System Operator will be responsible for daily management and coordination of NYPA's overall operations, including overseeing and monitoring the operational performance, as well as working with regional projects and local entities to ensure normal operations.
Requirements
- Monitor and control NYPA generation and transmission facilities
- Coordinate and direct switching schedules
- Direct generation and voltage support
- Continually monitor transmission network applications
- Utilize the ECC Energy Management System (EMS) and NYISO Management Information System (MIS)
- Coordinate NYPA generation stop/starts
- Assess generation reserves and schedules
- Monitor NYPA generation and ensure units are on schedule
- Coordinate and document derates and NYISO out of merits
- Adhere to NERC, NPCC, NYISO, and NYPA requirements
