The Assistant Womenâs Softball Coach provides support and assistance with all aspects of the intercollegiate softball program, instructing studentâathletes in the rules and fundamentals of softball while developing the whole student in and out of the classroom.
Requirements
- Support the Head Coach in the daily operation of a competitive NCAA Division II softball program
- Plan, conduct, and assist with practices, skill instruction, and gameâday strategy
- Recruit and retain qualified studentâathletes in alignment with NCAA and university standards
- Mentor studentâathletes in academic success, personal development, and leadership
- Collaborate with Athletic Performance staff on conditioning programs to enhance performance and reduce injury risk
- Ensure compliance with all NCAA Division II, MIAA, and institutional rules
- Coordinate with Admissions, Compliance, and other campus departments to support studentâathlete enrollment and eligibility
- Assist with camps, clinics, community engagement activities, and fundraising events
- Contribute to team travel planning and occasional team transportation
- Serve as a positive role model who reflects Newman Universityâs mission, values, and commitment to inclusive excellence
