Community Campaigns Organizer - Staten Island

Citizen Action is seeking a Community Campaigns Organizer for Staten Island to work with community members to basebuild and expand organizational membership through issue-based campaigns. The successful candidate will report to the Political Director and have a minimum of 3 years of organizing experience, with a focus on basebuilding and issue campaigns.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of organizing experience, with at least 2 of the 3 years experience in a paid, professional role
• A minimum of 1 year of experience planning and utilizing basebuilding tactics such as phone banking, door canvassing, tabling, facilitation of workshops and meetings
• A minimum of 1 year of experience planning and utilizing issue campaign tactics such as event planning, lobby meetings
• Willingness to learn and effectively use the organization's training methodology
• Commitment to track the progress of basebuilding and outreach work through the use of organizational data systems
• Familiarity with Google Drive and Zoom
• Preferred experience with VAN, Scale to Win, Mobilize, and Action Network
• Ability to be flexible with work planning and priority setting
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Ability to travel for work commitments
