Product Owner/Lead Developer for the Research Data Management Platform at the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ).
Requirements
- HBO/WO work and thinking level, preferably in Informatics, Computational Science, Information Science or a comparable field.
- At least 7 years of experience with software development, in a leading or architect role.
- Experience with Product Ownership or a comparable responsibility for a product backlog.
- Affinity with or experience in a scientific or academic environment; you understand how researchers work and what challenges they face around data management.
- Knowledge of FAIR principles, metadata standards, persistent identifiers, and open science.
- Familiarity with existing RDM or repository platforms is a pre.
- Strong programming skills in at least one relevant language (Python, Java, or C#).
- Experience with modern software architecture: API-first, microservices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, containerization (Docker), infrastructure-as-code.
- Knowledge of privacy, security, and compliance issues in a research environment (AVG, data sensitivity, ethical review).
- Dutch and English: fluent in word and writing.
