Principal Software Engineer

Nomura is seeking a Vice President - Principal Software Engineer to join its Instrument Master team. The role involves technical leadership, mentoring, and driving architectural decisions. The candidate should have strong technical problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and leadership capabilities.

Requirements

• Design and architect large-scale, distributed systems and applications
• Lead technical decision-making across multiple engineering teams
• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and development processes
• Drive technical strategy and roadmap planning
• Mentor senior and junior engineers and help develop their technical skills
• Collaborate with Data ops, Production Support, Business Analysts and other stakeholders
• Manage and lead a team of 2-4 engineers
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning
