We are seeking a Site Responsible to join our agile team in Quebec, Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining wind turbines and associated equipment, including inspection, operation, and repairs on site.
Requirements
- Diploma of college studies or technical certificate, or 4 years or more of directly related work experience in lieu of a diploma or technical certificate.
- 5 years of directly related work experience.
- Maintain required training and certification qualifications.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical testing equipment (i.e., various manual and electrical tools).
- Ability to obtain certification and work with medium and high voltage equipment.
- Proficiency in computers and standard software.
- Knowledge of SAP/JD Edwards and Maximo systems is an asset.
- Required flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts as needed.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to climb vertical ladders, work at heights of 100 meters (over 300 feet), and move and handle up to 23 kg (50 pounds).
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in difficult and extreme weather conditions, in dust, pollen, weeds, and confined spaces.
- A valid driver's license is essential and the candidate must be insurable under our automobile insurance. This position will be subject to periodic driving record checks to confirm the maintenance of insurability.
- Ability to safely travel to the wind farm in under 45 minutes in case of an emergency.
- Must be able to work in Canada without sponsorship and have the ability to travel to the United States for training.
- Ability to meet all Canadian hiring prerequisites.
- Ability to travel nationally and internationally for professional and/or training purposes for extended periods.
- Ability to respect specific equipment weight limits of 120 kg (265 lbs) or less.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate potential security risks proactively.
- Use safety equipment correctly, including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and hard hats. Loose clothing and jewelry are prohibited.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to ensure a safe working environment.
- Speak and understand English fluently to communicate safety information and work-related information, follow safety instructions, and collaborate with English-speaking supervisors and team members.
