Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A 2-year degree in wind turbine technology or a similar field is strongly preferred.
- 2-5 years of field service experience preferred with operations and maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, large component exchanges, and repairs of wind turbines.
- Demonstrated use and understanding of power tools.
- Able to work independently and on a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to be certified and work with both medium and high-voltage equipment.
- Maintain required training certifications such as rigger/signal person certification and crane calling certification.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings, schematics, instructions, and schedules.
- Intermediate computer skills, familiarity with internet-based programs, MS Office, and ability to generate data and reports using a computer.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport/ Canadian Passport to work in either location.
- Travel to project sites as required (up to 100% travel) in US & Canada.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods of time and requires working overtime, including a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business needs.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and will not require employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future for employment in the United States and must be eligible to travel to Canada.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical administered by a medical examiner to ensure the ability to safely perform job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.
- Ability to meet specific OSHA and ANSI weight limits of 265 lbs. or less.
- Driving is an essential function of the job. Must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy. This position will be subject to periodic driver’s abstract checks to confirm continued insurability.
- This position may require fieldwork in a wind farm environment, primarily during normal business hours. However, the site operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which may include changes of shift, overtime, and includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, and humidity, and work in confined spaces. Ability to climb turbine towers (up to 100 meters) as required. Work may involve lifting materials up to 70 pounds. Working in this environment requires the use of safety equipment including but is not limited to eye safety glasses; hearing protectors; steel-toe boots; and hard hats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
