Construction Estimator

Construction Estimator responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates and supporting the tendering process for mechanical industrial construction projects.

Requirements

• Completion of secondary school.
• Completion of a three-year college program in mechanical, civil or construction engineering technology or related discipline, or several years as a qualified mechanical tradesperson, or equivalent combination of education and progressive estimating experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel for estimating, cost tracking, and productivity analysis.
• Experience with construction estimating and project management software is considered an asset, including Procore, Jonas, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Accubid Anywhere, Microsoft Access, and Power BI.
• Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Strong analytical skills with proven ability to research, summarize information, and make cost- and productivity-based recommendations.
• Highly collaborative and able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
• Thorough understanding of construction project documents, scope, and estimates, with the ability to identify and document potential risks or opportunities.
• Working knowledge of company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures as they relate to construction estimating and project controls.
