Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking an Automotive Mechanic 2 to repair and maintain vehicles and equipment at Marion Correctional Institution. The ideal candidate will have 24 months of experience in automotive repair and maintenance, a valid commercial driver's license, and the ability to pass a urinalysis test for illegal drug use.
Requirements
- Repairs and replaces major parts of systems on vehicles and equipment
- Performs preventive maintenance and service
- Inspects underbody checking for leaks, loose or worn components in suspension, steering and/or drive train
- Inspects brakes looking for loose or worn components, proper adjustments and/or leaks, changes fluids, operates electronic system scope
- Maintains records of repairs and maintenance
- Orders and/or picks up parts
- Provides service and repair of vehicles and equipment on emergency basis and/or makes onsite service/outpost calls
- Operates welding equipment in order to repair vehicles and/or equipment
- Mows grass and/or operates snowplow, tow truck or other equipment
- Pumps gasoline attends training schools and annual training
- Serves on committees and attends meetings
