Requirements

• Work cooperatively with Northwest Health Services providers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Provide oral health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Ensure documentation in the oral health record justifies prescribed treatment.
• Provide general dentistry care for all individuals without regard to ability to pay, race, color, origin, or creed.
• Make and document proper referrals for treatments not available at this facility.
• Provide general supervision of registered dental hygienist and students.
• Develop policy and procedures for dental clinic and integrate with multi-disciplinary family health services.
• Participate in provider staff activities to develop, execute, and periodically review clinical management policies and systems.
• Inform staff of scheduled time away from duty, and any change in physician coverage.
• Participate in patient staffing/planning conferences, reviewing clinical assessments, patient progress reports, and reviewing and approving the patients plan of care.
• Provide consultation, guidance, and direction to dental support staff.
• Comply with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
