4th Class Power Engineer, 2nd Class Refrigeration - Casual Relief Opportunities

The IWK Health Centre is seeking a 4th Class Power Engineer, 2nd Class Refrigeration to operate, inspect, maintain, and record data on various systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The successful candidate will have a minimum grade 12 or GED, a 4th Class Power Engineer License, and 3 years of experience in a similar position. The role is a casual relief opportunity, working as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum grade 12 or GED required
• Minimum Interprovincial Fourth-Class Power Engineer License (Includes Second Class Refrigeration License)
• Three (3) years' experience in a similar position an asset
• Ability to work both in a team and independently
• Ability to react to emergencies or other changes in work environment and effectively reprioritize tasks
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, process diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals
• Ability to distinguish full colour spectrum
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety procedures
• Ability to recognize and appropriately react to potentially hazardous conditions
• Ability to safely follow instruction and work processes
• Knowledge of building operation systems (Siemens/Johnson Controls)
• Functional knowledge of auxiliary building software (Megamation, Fireworks, Swisslog)
• Knowledge of hydronics and an understanding of water treatment
• Ability to carry out tasks with a strong emphasis on safe work practices
• Ability to identify opportunities and take action to enhance results within the organization without prompt
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
