The Research Nurse reports to the Manager, Challenge Unit, CCV and provides administrative and clinical support for Clinical Trials at the CCfV Challenge Unit. The Research Nurse is responsible for a wide range of duties, including research project logistics, recruitment/enrollment, consenting participants, conducting visits, and participant follow-up.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Nursing
- Valid NS nursing license
- 2+ years of relevant experience within a university research setting, hospital, or comparable environment
- Experience in research, specifically clinical trials
- Strong clinical skills including blood sampling, IM injections and physical assessment
- Experience writing, editing, and reviewing study related documents
- Understanding of Research, Ethics, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) in concept and practice
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organized and able to effectively multitask in a clinical or research setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to speak, listen, and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
- Comfortable dealing with parents, participants, and members of the public
- Able to work cooperatively and effectively with others
- Strong attention to detail
