Job Description
The Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education is seeking a Casual Teacher Assistant to provide personal care, behaviour management support, and instructional support to students. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the principal, supervising teacher, and/or school team.
Requirements
- Teacher Assistant/Educational Support Diploma or Certificate from a recognized educational institution; or Licenced Practical Nurse
- Valid Standard First Aid
- Acceptable Criminal Record and Child Abuse Registry Checks
- Demonstrated ability to perform physical requirements of the positions
- Reliable, dependable and conscientious
- Acceptable record of attendance in previous employment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with and develop a positive rapport with children and youth
- Demonstrated awareness of, and respect and sensitivity for, diverse strengths and needs of children and youth with special needs and exceptionalities
