Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technician - Maintenance and Operations

Nova Scotia Health is seeking an Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment. The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Assistant Manager, Maintenance and Operations, and will be responsible for a variety of skills related to the trade. Requirements

• Completion of an approved air conditioning/refrigeration apprenticeship program
• Nova Scotia Journeyperson Refrigeration/Air Conditioning Certificate
• Four years' experience as a journeyperson
• Working knowledge of applicable safety codes
• Demonstrated communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Eager to learn new skills and participate in on-the-job training
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in emergency situations
• Valid training in the following would be considered an asset - WHMIS, confined space awareness, fall protection, Arc flash, first aid, lock-out tag-out and infection control
