Mechanical Designer

We’re looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our high growth R&D Engineering team. You will develop designs and documentation for new and existing products, research specifications, and manage projects independently. Experience with SolidWorks and mechanical design drafting practices is required.

Requirements

• Two-year technical degree in drafting or design
• 5+ years of mechanical experience in drafting/design
• Thorough knowledge of sheet metal design
• Experience using SolidWorks
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical design drafting practices
• Capable of performing basic design calculations (example: tolerance stacks, press fits, etc.)
• Strong knowledge in use and application of GD&T
• Ability to independently generate complex designs and assemblies
• Proficiency in mechanical, electrical or refrigeration for designing, assisting and directing the build of components and assemblies
• Knowledge of relative manufacturing processes, including brazing/welding of copper, stainless steel highly preferred
• Experience with ENOVIA PLM system and JD Edwards a plus
• Knowledge of tubing, manifold designs for fluids, and plastic part design a plus
