Behavioral Intervention Specialist

Our Behavioral Support Department has a full-time, 40-hour Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) or BIS In-Training position available. The schedule for this position is Monday—Friday, hours vary depending on the needs of the program.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• Have a valid driver’s license that meets WWAARC insurability standards.
• A master’s degree in behavior analysis (BCBA) or a field closely related to clinical or community psychology that is approved by OPWDD; OR A master’s degree in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, social work, school psychology applied psychology as it relates to human development and clinical intervention or a related human services field; OR A NYS license in Mental Health Counseling, have at least 5 years’ experience working directly with people supported with I/DD and/or supervise and train others on behavior support plans AND have obtained OPWDD approved specialized training or experience in functional assessment techniques and behavior support plan development.
• Must have sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English to communicate effectively with people supported and team members and to complete required documentation in accordance with regulatory and agency standards.
