Fisheries Ecologist

The Biodiversity and Ecosystem Health group within the Environmental Sciences Division (ESD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking an aquatic ecologist focused on fisheries and data science to support research on the interactions between energy infrastructure, especially hydropower systems, and aquatic ecosystems.

Requirements

• PhD in ecology, environmental sciences, zoology, fisheries, or a related field completed within the last 5 years
• Experience in multivariate statistical procedures and basic modelling
• Data analysis and management programming experience in R or Python
• GIS experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory
• Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs
