Engineering Manager (Firmware)

As an Engineering Manager, you will manage a team of Firmware Engineers responsible for the development, support and on-going day to day maintenance of the firmware associated with the Ocado Mobile Robots (OMRs).

Requirements

• Past experience leading a team of Mechanical and/or Software Engineers that design, develop and support high reliability, safety critical embedded systems;
• Strong understanding of the principles of both Software and Mechanical Engineering, and experience of product development in industry with the ability to make trade offs between solving a problem physically or in software;
• Experience of work planning and allocation, generating realistic schedules and tracking progress against them;
• Understanding of the principles of embedded systems, functional safety, complex electro-mechanical products and how to manage challenges these systems present;
• Background of hands-on development of embedded systems that have gone into production;
