Job Description
Octopus Energy Group is an energy tech company seeking a Power Grid Analyst to join their team on a 6-month FTC basis. The role involves analyzing and modeling grids, providing insights to inform capex strategy, and supporting grid development plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy systems, advanced power flow modeling expertise, and knowledge of non-linear optimization.
Requirements
- Strong background in energy systems
- Advanced power flow modeling expertise (PSCAD, PSSE, PowerFactory, PandaPower)
- Knowledge of non-linear optimization
- Knowledge of linear, economic modeling (e.g. plexos)
- Experience with DERs, medium and high voltage grids, and utility-scale energy projects
- Deep understanding of energy economics and grid infrastructure principles
- Experience with data platforms such as Python, Databricks, Kubernetes, Terraform, Streamlit, Airflow, Circle CI, Parquet, Delta file formats, Spark, and DBT
